I have an engineering background and thirteen years of experience in the energy sector, working on large power plant projects. I spent nearly five of those years on construction sites. I have been interested in the design and construction of structures since I was a child. This is something that inevitably influences my art. The name “En_piezas” is a play on words: in Spanish “en_piezas” means “in pieces”, and “empiezas” means “you begin”. The works in this project are all composed of small pieces that are assembled to form a larger structure. In this way they connect me with the period when I started playing with wooden building blocks and Lego.
