I’m a woman and have studied and worked in a men’s dominated environment during my whole life. I’m proud to be a feminist and I have always taken any opportunity I had to fight against gender inequality. With this series of paintings I want to raise awareness and make both, women and men, think about gender issues. Gender stereotypes get engraved in our minds progressively, from the moment we are born to this world. Even the more conscious parents will be unable to avoid its impact. Because there are attitudes that are so normalized by society that we don’t even realize how they are influencing our behaviour. It is about time that we break this cycle.
